Ok, just to get all of you off my back I shall recant the tale that was Saturday night.

I met my friend and her boyfriend from work at a halfway point so that I wouldn’t get lost in the sprawling metropolis that is York. We then proceeded to the restaurant/ sports bar to meet up with her friend. She was late meeting us (gee, a girl being late for something, who would’ve thunk it ;-p ) Anyway…

When she did show up I quickly figured out that it was going to be a LOOOOOONG night. This was not good. As it turns out, we have NOTHING in common. Nice girl and all but much like an English curriculum there was an absence of chemistry. Awkward doesn’t even begin to describe the whole dinner experience. Thank God for the basketball and World Series game that was on. After dinner we moved to the bar part of the building for a game of foosball and pool. This was the most relaxed part of the evening. I don’t know whether to attribute this to the atmosphere or the alcohol. Take your pick.

So, after 2 hours of dinner and pool we are getting ready to leave. At this point I thought I was home free. But, as we are leaving my friend says, “Lets go dancing!” Everyone else thought this was a great idea. Now, for those of you who don’t know me real well let me explain something. When standing up I have very little rhythm. I don’t care what my friends from college say ;-) So, this could go nowhere but down.

On the way to the club I was trying to figure out ways in which to extract myself from this situation as quick as possible. Nothing sane came to me. So, I ventured in hoping that I saw someone else that I knew. No luck there either. Thankfully, the night ended an hour later. The worst part about this whole thing is that my date actually had a good time. Ugh. So now I have to deal with the matchmaker at work bugging me.

So there is the story of the night that wouldn’t end quick enough. Not what I was hoping for at all.

On the up side the D-backs won that night.

So once again I look into the empty void that is my dating life. Just as well I suppose, the next month I won’t be around much. This weekend it’s Boston, next weekend it’s Baltimore for a “pimp and ho” party, and then it’s Thanksgiving. So, I’ll keep busy in any event.

Well, that’s all from the land of me. Time for laundry and football. Ah the bachelor’s life, it’s the life for me…tee dum, tee de………..
