I have come to the conclusion that I am a magnet for very odd, out of the blue occurrences. This afternoon a fairly simple event drove this point home. As we all know I own a dog. As such I must walk him a few times each day or invest in heavy amounts of carpet cleaner and Febreeze. Anyway, this afternoon I put the dog in the harness, picked up a “doggie bag”, and stepped outside to pick up the “scooper”. But, to my dismay, the scooper was no where to be found. I didn’t give it much thought (other than now I have to buy another one) until after the walk was over and I was sitting on my couch listening to music. The one thing that kept flying through my head was this, “What would make someone steal a shit shovel?” [I hope you all have a smile on your face at this point because I did] I mean there are a lot of things in this world more valuable than that, aren’t there? Plus, have you just been walking along and seen a dirty, former garden trowel and thought, “God, I need that shovel right there. Sure it looks nasty and rusty and it’s resting on a bag of dog shit but damn it all I want it!” Me neither. So, if the person that took the shovel is reading this I hope it has brought you all the happiness a dirty piece of metal can bring you :)
Other than the shovel mystery life is going good. Last Friday I did my first solo operation support gig. It was a trip. Again, nothing like having a doctor look at you after the hole is drilled and the frame is on the patient turn to you and say, “Ok, now guide me through the rest.” I’m happy to say that the procedure went off very well. You truly know you’ve mastered the procedure when you can verbally walk someone through the physical act. It was a rush!
So, this Friday I am off to Pittsburgh for the day and then on Monday I head off to Charleston for a day or so. Lifestyles of the young and the mobile!
Time for bed. Night all!
