Hmmm….How do I classify last week? How about a roller coaster of emotions….Last time I wrote I had just found out about planned lay-offs. I am happy to report that we fought and won. None of the operators on the team lost their jobs. However, now that I step back and look and the big picture I realize what I helped cause. I basically argued 3 other people out of a job. I don’t like that feeling. It was a lose-lose situation. I just transferred the hardship to some other project. Time heals I suppose…..
My parents left for Mexico yesterday. I hope they have a VERY uneventful plane trip there. I forget when then will be coming home but they better remember my tequila ;P From the pictures I saw they are staying in a really neat house. I believe they are meeting 2 or 3 other couples down there. In any event the weather is better where they are. I am horrible at spelling so I’ll just sound out the town they are in: Porta Voy-air-ta (Hooked on phonics worked for me). Any idea where that is?
Yesterday, Pete, Dan, Jeff (both Pete’s friends) and I went to the Troegs brewery in Harrisburg. Let me say that I am amazed that beer this good is made so close to where I live. The tour was great! It was given by one of the two brothers that owns and brews the beer. Both were there but one was maning the Tasting room. They start you out in the Tasting room where you get FREE (yes, free) beer. 1 or 2 before the tour, 1 for the tour, and 1 after (they were small glasses but hey…it was free). Their Oatmeal Stout (I bought a case) and ESP are AMAZING!! From the outside the building looks like a warehouse. I missed the turn into it twice cuz I didn’t think is was the right building. Oh, as a side note one of the tanks they have had 14000 pints in it. And it was half full! Ultimate keg stand :p It was a very fun afternoon.
Time to go walk the dog and then hit the hay. Gotta be fresh for the up coming week of work. Who knows what will be thrown at me in the next few days…..
