My Fictitious Weekend

Friday 5:00 PM: The work day ends and the new “only for motorcycles” freeway was open for business. Clean roads with ZERO construction to congest and slow. Ahhh. Worry free wheelies and stoppies all the way home :)

I arrived at home and my dog met me at the door. We then went for a no leash walk during which he neither chased any children down nor tried to disembowel any small mammals. We met a roving band of 20 something year old aspiring models who were out doing missionary work (so they said). After exchanging cell numbers we were on our way. Arriving at home I found dinner had been cooked by none other than Emeril himself! It turns out he lived in my place for a short period of time in the late eighties and still had a key. Creepy but delicious.

Saturday I awoke to a beautiful blue sky. 60 degrees and not a hint of rain or humidity. I found that Loki had learned to use the bathroom so walks became more a recreation need for him rather than a functional requirement. So I headed to the golf course. I proceeded to shoot the best round of my life. I set not only the scoring record but also the land speed record for fastest ¼ mile in a golf cart. Excellent.

That evening I headed out with some old friends of mine from college. We headed out to the bars in the ‘Burgh for a night of drunken revelry. Turns out we hit every spot just as the Free Happy Hour started. We usually miss those by 5 minutes or so ;) Fun was had by all!

Sunday was especially neat because every Detroit team won! And it was discovered that due to an obscure rule the Detroit Tigers were the only team actually eligible for the playoffs this year. Yeah!

Again, it was perfect day for riding so Loki and I (yes, Loki had learned how to ride on the back of the bike. It surprised the hell out of me as well. God bless the Internet I guess. Who knew my dog could surf the web?) headed out for points unknown, his ears and tail flapping in the breeze and a smile on my lips. Later that day as we were watching the sun set by the side of the river my phone rang. It was my boss. He just wanted to let me know that it was my turn to take the week off with pay. Ahhhhh. Then it rang again. “Hello,” I said. “Hey, this is the Models for Humanity group you met Friday. We need a place to stay. Could you help us?” At that point Loki, who overheard the conversation (damn his ears) gave me the paws up. “Yeah, I think I can help,” I said.

So ended my weekend
